Nam enters semi-finals of Japan F3 event

National treasure: Vietnamese top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam. — Photo baomoi.comHÀ NỘI — Vietnamese top player Lý Hoàng Nam entered the simi-finals of the singles of the Japan F 三 Men’s Futures tennis tournament in Kofu City yesterday.Nam, world No  六 三0, defeated No  六 seed Gao Xin, world No  四 八 九,  六- 三,  六- 一 in the quarter-finals after more than one hour.

Nam will meet No  三 seed Niki Takuto, world No  三 五 四, in the next round.

Having reached the tournament’s semi-final, Nam will add six points to his Association of Tennis Professionals ranking.

In other news, No  一 六 seed Nguyễn Văn Phương of Việt Nam beat No  四 Theertha Shashank Macherla of India  六- 三, 0- 六,  六- 四 in the third of the Kuala Lumpur ITF International Junior Championship’s boys singles U 一 八 G 五 event. — VNS
